Dawnsweeper privacy policy
Last updated: . This policy covers the Dawnsweeper app for iOS and Android and the website dawnsweeper.com, both run by Uthentic, Inc.
The app
The app collects no personal data and shares none. It has no account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no crash reporting. It never sends your worlds, your play or anything about your phone to us.
Your worlds are saved on your phone, in the app’s own storage. If you export a world, the file goes where you choose, and we never see it.
The app uses the network for one thing: the Peaceful mode purchase. Buying and restoring go through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, which handle the payment and tell the app whether Peaceful is owned. We don’t receive your payment details. The store’s own privacy policy covers what it collects.
Links in the game’s credits open in your browser, outside the app.
The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, children included.
The website
dawnsweeper.com uses our own first-party analytics to count visits. For each page view it records the page’s address, the page you came from, your browser’s user-agent string, the country your visit came from (worked out by our hosting provider from your connection; the analytics don’t store your IP address), any campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), and the time. It also counts a few things done on the site, such as a click on a store badge, a press-kit download, playing the gameplay clip or how far down a blog post you read, without anything you type. To tell visits apart it keeps a random visitor ID in your browser’s local storage and a random session ID that expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. It uses no cookies and no third-party trackers, and nothing is sold or shared.
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, the analytics don’t load at all: nothing is stored in your browser and nothing is sent. The site works the same either way, and with JavaScript turned off.
Analytics records are deleted after 13 months. Separately, like any web server, ours keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, the address requested and your browser’s user-agent string) for security and troubleshooting, and deletes them within 14 days. The site is served through Cloudflare, which handles the connection on our behalf.
